Oil & Gas – Lebanon’s National Wealth Forum, June 08, 2015

Despite the political deadlock, which has put the oil and gas file on hold for long months, the second edition of the Oil & Gas – Lebanon’s National Wealth Forum, which will be held at the ESA campus in Beirut on June 08, promises to be a success.

The event, focusing this year on “Governance and Integration”, is organized by “Front Page Communication” in collaboration with the Forum for Dialogue, a Makhzoumi initiative. The forum is sponsored by Total, Shell and Engie (previously GDF Suez), and two local banks Crédit Libanais and BBAC.

Middle East Strategic Perspectives (MESP) is a partner of the event.

It is interesting to note the presence of three companies that have pre-qualified for Lebanon’s first licensing round (two of them, Total and Shell, as operators). Over the past year, oil and gas conferences held in Lebanon struggled to attract major companies, prompting some organizers to cancel (or minimize) their events.

For those unable to attend, the conference will be broadcast live on LBCI, which has distinguished itself lately with a regular coverage of oil and gas events, contributing to raising awareness on a topic that stirs passions among the Lebanese but is rarely addressed in a reasonable and scientific way (as the results of our monitoring of Lebanese media’s coverage of the oil & gas sector show).
